ESET has a strong anti-malware engine, a useful firewall setting and a password manager that includes form filling and browser protection and a range of network security tools. Its parental controls, secure browser and anti-theft tools are also good but not great. In contrast to other programs, it doesn’t include a VPN service or microphone protection, though it does have remote camera access and screen capture so that you can be able to see what the thief doing on your mobile or laptop.

The program has a well designed interface that is easy to comprehend and manage by beginners but it also offers comprehensive information and power user features for those who require it. The company offers excellent customer service that is available via their website or from the client directly by clicking the “support” button located at the bottom of each application.

We were impressed by the fact that ESET Internet Security shows you how it’s protecting your computer with a status bar at the top of the screen and also provides precise security statistics. The software will notify you on the desktop, close to the system tray, when something is happening on your computer.

The antiphishing tools of the antivirus were extremely vigilant and blocked a lot of websites I was confident about but were not listed on PhishTank. Also that when we plug a USB storage device into our laptop the program automatically scanned it, which was somewhat annoying as most other programs simply ask for permission to scan the device.
